We are sad to say that this is our last post on this blog, but don’t worry! we have just re-located and you can now find us at blog.fmbookshops.com .
Well its been a busy few weeks, and our new web store is now fully up and running. The orders have started coming in, so a massive thanks to everyone who has supported the Faith Mission so far with our new Online Store!
Since we launched the new online shop we have decided to consolidated all our various older sites to now live here all under the fmbookshops.com domain. Be sure to add us to you’re RSS feed or to keep checking back for more updates!
From time to time, we will also be handing promotions, special discounts and promo-codes out via our other streams listed at the bottom;
All our web offers will also be available in your local store, subject to stock availability, so please do come in and physically check us out as well.
We are excited about the opportunities that this new store offers and have already begun to see a wider base of customers emerge, people who maybe do not have a high street christian retailer nearby. We would love to see this grow further so ask that if you would like to support us you could do so by recommending us to your friends, family or church.
If you have any suggestions for the site we would love to hear from you, so please get in contact with us!
Thanks again for your support.

For many of us, all we can do to help Haiti is to pray for the people there. Hundreds of thousands of people have been thrust into complete chaos and devastation. Haiti is already a difficult place to live with drastic levels of poverty, the earthquake only adds huge difficulties to their already troubled lives.
Singer/Speaker and friend of mine Shaun Groves, has suggested some ways we might be able to help the people of Haiti through Compassion, who sponsor more than 65,000 children there. You can see his blog post here
There are many other ways to help the people of Haiti, (some suggestions) but as i say, we can at least stop & pray today for the people….

Its been a little too long since we updated the blog! Apologies for that! We have been busy at FM Bookshops, developing a new accounts system that will make accounting easier & more efficient for both us & the customer.
But that’s not all, we have spent a lot of time looking at our music, trying to create a new structure that would be helpful to us & also to our customers. Music is changing, the industry, both secular and Christian is dwindling as far as sales of cds concerned. Online retailers have hacked their prices to get ahead of the rest & downloads have eaten into the figures as well.
There are a million other factors and we could go around in circles trying to solve them. The bottom line is we LOVE music & our solution had to be, to lower ALL of our prices! Plain & simple!
One of our favourite special price offers we have just announced is the new LEELAND album ‘Love is on the Move’ which we are offering at the amazing price of £7.93! Yes, that is cheaper than iTunes and all other retailers in the UK! Buy it from us HERE. There are and will be MANY more great prices on old & new titles! Come & have a look HERE!
We have also launched an in-store magazine called “CONNECT” which will highlight special offers, shop news and promotions. More on that soon!

“The relationship between science and faith is often represented as a battleground. The claim is that science has pushed God into the margins. But is the truth more complex? Talking to leading scientist-believers, we probe the issues at the heart of this debate. Has science really murdered God? Or is the God question being redefined in new ways by science? Does the possibility of a Creator remain an ineradicable challenge?” This film will come out through Paternoster & Authentic media soon with a host of other resources for Churches & small groups etc.

In the Selfless Gene, Charles Foster assesses the claims of Neo-Darwinists and Young Earth Creationists, demonstrating that orthodox Christianity is not incompatible with what evolutionary biology says about our world. The real issue, he argues, centres around the ethical implications of natural selection, and what such a system – based on selfishness, waste and death – might say about the loving creator God of the Christian faith.
Intelligent, provocative and accessible, the Selfless Gene offers the prospect of reasoned dialogue between faith and scientific study, and a reconciliation of what are popularly seen as two opposing worldviews.
“An important antidote to the shrill hysteria about evolution.” Sam Berry, Professor Emeritus of Genetics, UCL
Charles Foster is a writer, barrister, and tutor in Medical Law and Ethics at the University of Oxford and sits as part-time judge in the criminal and civil courts. His two most recently published books are the Jesus Inquest (an inquiry into the historicity of the resurrection) and Tracking the Ark of the Convenant.

The Faith Mission Bookshop in Portadown, just this week picked up a short listing and 3rd place award at the annual Christian Booksellers Convention (CBC). The short listing and 3rd place came in the Large retailer of the year award which takes in almost 400 shops across the UK. To get noticed in such a large category is a superb achievement for the relatively new shop. Much of the current success of the shop is down to last Septembers move to a brand new premises in Portadown, the hard work of manager Jim Mckee and his staff and the addition of a Coffee Shop to the premises. The new bright and open layout is both welcoming and relaxed, and is attracting people who never knew there was a Christian bookshop in town. All of this has developed during the current difficult economic climate but amazingly the shop has experienced more customers and higher turnover than ever. The recognition by the trade at CBC is the icing on the cake.

Faith Mission Bookshops also launched a new online shop in April, it becomes our 20th shop in UK & Ireland & currently our Ballymena shop is undergoing major refurbishment which should see it emulate the success of the Portadown shop. People are coming from all over Ireland to see the shop, why not drop in and see for yourself.
